Racey Bartley Earns AVCA All-Southeast Region Honorable Mention
Mount Olive College middle hitter Racey Bartley earned honorable mention as the 2009 AVCA Division II All-Southeast Region Women’s Volleyball Team was announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Bartley has been named to the All-Region Team in each of the last three years, including first team honors in 2008.
Bartley, a 6-0 senior from Jacksonville, N.C. (Jacksonville HS), is a three-time All-Conference Carolinas selection, earning first team honors in 2008 and 2009. Bartley is the only Conference Carolinas player to rank in the top seven in the conference in kills, hitting percentage and service aces. She ranks third in the conference – and 49th in the nation – with 3.60 kills per set, second in the conference with a .318 hitting percentage and seventh with 0.41 aces per set. Bartley won Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honors the week of September 14-20.
Bartley finished her collegiate career as Mount Olive’s all-time hitting percentage leader with a career .360 hitting percentage. She also recorded 1,360 career kills.
Mount Olive posted an overall record of 13-19 in 2009 and tied for fourth in the Conference Carolinas standings with a 12-6 mark. The Trojans fell to Anderson 3-1 in the first round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament.
